High standard in the men’s air pistol on the first day of Marko Leppä memorial

Today’s program consisted of air rifle and pistol qualification competitions and finals in men, women, men junior and women junior.

In the men’s air pistol Sampo Voutilainen shot a very good score in the qualification, 579 points and beat both Latvian Olympians, Emils Vasermanis, 576 and Lauris Strautmanis, 576. In the final Voutilainen continued in high spirits and shot 239,8 with that he won second, Emils Vasermanis with 0,7 points.

In the women’s air rifle, the final was a close call between Marianne Palo and Viivi Kemppi, Palo finished on top with a difference of 0,6 points. In the qualification Kemppi was top gun with 627,2 points.

In the men’s air rifle Aleksi Leppä shot a good score in the qualification, 629 points. In the final his fellow Olympian, Lucas Kozeniesky from the USA passed him after a solid final with 252,4 points- highest final score for the day in rifle.

In the women’s air pistol Alexis Lagan, USA was in her own class in both the qualification and the final. In the qualification she shot a good score of 571 points.

The Latvian pistol juniors did some good scores in the air pistol qualifications, Daniels Vilcins shot 571 points in the junior men and Alise Dvariske 565 points in the junior women.

The rest of the winners of the day: Niko Antila air rifle junior men, Alexandra Rosenlew air rifle junior women, Otso-Aadolf Ahokangas air pistol junior men, Alise Dvariske air pistol junior women.

Tomorrow, we do another round of the Finnish ECH and WCH qualification and in the afternoon, we start with the GP competition!
