Good results by Voutilainen and Leppä during the second day of Marko Leppä memorial- Grand Prix of Leppa.fi part X
On the second day of Marko Leppä memorial- Grand Prix of Leppa.fi part X there was shot a qualification round in both air rifle and air pistol without a final before the Grand Prix started.
Sampo Voutilainen, Finlandand Aleksi Leppä, Finland continued on Saturday from where they stopped on Friday. Voutilainen shot a new personal record in the men’s air pistol, 581 points. Leppä crossed the 630 mark with 630,2 points in the men’s air rifle. Both won their competitions.
Alexis Lagan, USA won once again the women’s air pistol with a solid result of 576 points. Marianne Palo, Finland won the women’s air rifle with a good score of, 628,4 points. In the juniors, Daniels Vilcins, Latvia shot a very good result, 574 points in the air pistol junior men.
Other winners were: Kristiana Agule, Latvia air pistol junior women, Vertti Jauhiainen, Finland air rifle junior men, Nanna Uuttu, Finland air rifle junior women and Minna Niemikorpi, Finland in P2 air pistol.
Two rounds of the Grand Prix
At 16:00 the first round of the Grand Prix of Leppa.fi Part X started. In the GP the athletes are put in pairs by lottery, they shoot 10 shots and the best of the two proceeds to the next round. In the air rifle Aleksi Leppä had the best score of the first round, 104,2 points and with that he went on to the second round, after winning against Jack Burns, USA. In the pistol Alise Dvariske, Latvia shot best,101,2 points with that she beat Otso-Aadolf Ahokangas, Finland in a tight match.
In the second round there were two highly anticipated pairs. In rifle Aleksi Leppä was competing against last year’s winner Lucas Kozeniesky, USA and in pistol Sampo Voutilainen was put against last years winner of the pistol competition, Emils Vasermanis, Latvia. Kozeniesky and Voutilainen did go through the battles as winners. Best result of the round in rifle did Mack Pruden, USA with 104,9 points and in pistol Lauris Strautmanis, Latvia 102,4 points.
Tomorrow round three will start at 9:15, the lottery will be held at 8:45. There will be drawn in two lucky losers for rifle and three for pistol. All is live streamed on Youtube, you find the link below! An interesting day ahead!
