Voutilainen and Kozeniesky ruled in the Grand Prix of Leppa.fi Part X
Today the final stages of the Marko Leppä memorial- Grand Prix of Leppa.fi Part X was competed. The competition were athletes is drawn in to pairs and they shoot 10 shot’s each and the winner proceeds to the next round.
Today was shot the 3rd and 4th round and the semifinals and finals. After the roar from the crowd had settled, Sampo Voutilainen, FIN and Lucas Kozeniesky, USA was crowned champions. Both were very dominant throughout the competition. Special was also that Kozeniesky is the first ever to take back to back wins in the GP. Both Voutilainen and Kozeniesky were awarded 700 euros for their wins.
Second place in the pistol went to Alexis Lagan, USA and in rifle, Meelis Kiisk, EST. They got prize money worth 500 euros for their competitions. Third in pistol was Anete Keita Bikerniece, LAT after that she beat Elina Silver, FIN in the bronze match. In rifle the 400 euros prize money for bronze went to Mack Pruden, USA, fourth was Anna-Kristine Haakseth, NOR.
All and all 40 athletes competed in rifle and 26 in pistol. The highest ten shot series in rifle was shot by Kozeniesky, 105,5 points and he shot that in the final! In pistol Lauris Vasermanis had the highest score for one 10 shot series, 102,4 points.
Lapua Ammo to the USA and the Inband stayed in Finland
Everybody stayed until the very end of the competition to wait and see who wins the 5000pcs tested Lapua ammunition and the Inband electronic scoring target. After a exciting lottery the Lapua ammunition was won by Matt Muzik and the Inband electronic scoring target got Suvi Koskelainen. The team that arranged the competitions, led by Risto Aarrekivi also awarded the former Leppa.fi-team athletes, Aleksi Leppä, Tuulevi Suomus and Lauri Syrjä with 1000 euros as a training support.
